The heated coolant is transferred to the core of the radiator where the liquid is circled through the radiator’s tubes. Eventually, the coolant will arrive at a secondary tank where it cools. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Just as sweating helps to keep you cool, the radiator works the same way for the engine. The inner-workings of the car work hard to get you where you need to go and as a result, things can get pretty hot under the hood. The friction, movement, and interaction of your engine’s parts create heat, and in order to maintain a temperature that is not too extreme the engine has built-in devices to keep it cool. The radiator is one of these cooling devices.

To keep the temperature under the hood at a reasonable level, coolant is sent to the engine block to absorb excess heat. After a thermostat adjusts based on the temperature of the fluids, the coolant is transferred to the radiator to remove engine heat. Fans within the radiator use airflow to keep the engine cooled down. Following this process, coolant re-cycles through the engine to repeat the cooling cycle over and over again.

Without engine cooling devices, specifically the radiator, it would be impossible for the engine of your car to stay at a safe temperature for driving. That being said, servicing your radiator is the best way to make certain it is safely keeping your engine cool and not collecting a build-up of contaminants.
